Utility Model / Design

KIP's patent practice includes services involving Utility Models and Designs.
In Korea, utility model protection can be chosen in lieu of patent protection for practical devices, and dual applications are also possible.
We counsel clients in the selection of the most cost-effective form of protection for their inventive devices. We also assist clients in identifying protectable designs.

Trademarks and Copyrights

We regularly advise in the selection of trademarks, service marks, and copyrights.
We obtain and analyze search reports and prepare and file trademark and service mark applications for registration.
We also provide advice on licensing of trademarks or service marks, monitoring of licensing arrangements, and the treatment of licenses and the assignment of marks in connection with the formation, operation, financing, and sale of a business. We have broad experience in the defense and prosecution of trademarks, service marks, copyright infringement actions and trademark counterfeiting cases.
In addition to litigating disputes in Korean courts, we represent clients in connection with opposition proceedings in the Korean Intellectual Property Office.
